When you think of leadership, what is the first thing that comes to mind?  Is it a person, a thing, something you can do, something you can be, or is it something you can achieve? Can leadership be taught, learned, developed, or is it something that someone is naturally born with?

What about someone who is a leader? Is a leader someone you respect and look up to?  Is it someone you want to become?  Is a leader something that just anyone can become?

When I think of leaders and leadership there are many things that come to mind.  Over the years I have discovered many words that describe who a leader is, to include what a leader should be, know, and do.

Be, know, and do are three very important characteristics of leadership which every Soldier in the United States Army must follow in order to become a successful leader.  I have followed each of these simple characteristics and fully believe they have laid the foundation that has made me a successful leader.

I have been a Soldier for over 20 years and have adopted many of the philosophies of be, know, and do.  I will cover these all important characteristics in this blog to include some life lessons that I believe will motivate and inspire you to personal and professional success.  I will do this by describing in detail many words that I believe a leader should be, know, and do.

Once you have a better understanding of the framework of what a leader must be, know, and do, I strongly believe that you will be able to take necessary action to be the best leader you can be.  I hope you enjoy reading and learning about the many words I believe describe what a leader must be, know, and do.
